We have an exceptional opportunity for a Printing Manager to join the nation's largest integrated manufacturer of recycled paperboard and converted paperboard products.  The company also manufactures packaging accessories and provides filling, packaging and other services for a wide range of industries in 43 countries.  You will supervise the printing operations at the facility at this folding carton facility in the Nashville TN area.  You will ensure that equipment is well maintained and quality of product produced meets / supersedes expectations.  You will mentor and develop your team while ensuring high productivity. .

Responsibilities:

  • Oversees printing logistics
  • Ensures timely delivery of product.
  • Reports on daily production, plans for future production
  • Communicates effectively with scheduling department.
  • Support continuous improvement and production efficiency efforts with safety and quality at the forefront.
  • Communicates KPIs to the printing department.
  • Meets KPI’s for the department and follows up on any countermeasures to drive through implementation.
  • Write detailed descriptions of problems,
  • Facilitates Root Cause Problem Solving.
  • Plan and lead Kaizen activities and sustain results.
  • Trains and mentors the team in a participative, continuous improvement environment.
  • Leads the printing department in daily Gemba walks.
  • Provides feedback and coaching to employees.
  • Manages all duties and responsibilities in accordance with policies / control procedures.
  • Trains the printing department on operating safely and complying with company policy
  • Maintains good working relationships with vendors and customers.
  • Ensures that equipment is well maintained and available when needed.
  • Develop, train and implement operator basic care.
  • Monitors quality of product to meet company standards. 
  • Monitors the use of materials.
  • Obtains needed materials for production purposes in a timely fashion.
  • Reports when equipment maintenance needs to the manager.
  • Coordinates trials and customer samples & approvals.
  • Responsible for on-site ink technician.

 Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 4+ years’ supervisory experience required
  • Previous printing experience required,.
  • Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrate ability to coach employees and develop talent.
  • Skilled at working multiple projects at once
  • Can work proficiently under intense pressure.
  • Must be able to proficient PC skills using Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and think critically in a timely manner.
  • Strong detail orientation
  • Folding carton experience is a plus.
  • Professional training / certifications are a plus.
  • Advanced education is a plus.
