We have a terrific opportunity for a Program Manager to join a global Tier 1 manufacturer of automotive products.  Since 1983 this exciting growth company has manufactured and designed innovative lighting products for BMW, FORD, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Chrysler, Mazda, GM and others.  The Program Manager will provide leadership and direction to the core teams and the staff of all support groups. This key role will be setting program objectives for timing, cost, manufacturability, quality, localization, and customer satisfaction for the development and launch of new automotive lighting products.

Duties 

  • Acts as the lead role for product development and launch for both the customer and the company on new automotive lighting programs
  • Leads Core Team activities, including: planning new program launch
  • Creating project schedules with key milestones
  • Defines each functional area’s deliverables; communicating plans, schedules, and changes
  • Generates consensus from the team
  • Clarifies all customer requirements for the project, communicates them to the team to ensure that the team meets or exceeds them.
  • Enforces adherence to project plan and schedule by conducting core team meetings, generating follow-up documents, managing open issues,
  • Facilitates team member’s jobs, and soliciting management support in overcoming problems
  • Budgets, tracks, and, controls all project costs in real time
  • Ensures that all chargeable costs are assigned to the customer, and obtains management approval for all cost overruns 

 

Required Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related technical degree
  • Must have 6+ years of experience in areas that could include any combination program management, design, product development, engineering, and/or manufacturing
  •  Class A surface experience with automotive molded parts
  • Previous experience in Tier 1 or 2 automotive supplier is strongly preferred
  • Must have experience leading the program or product management from award through launch.
  • Experienced working directly with the client while managing internal teams.
  • Must be skilled with maintaining and publishing documents such as Timelines, Open Issues Deck (both internal and customer), Financial Reports and Executive Level Presentations
  • Highly developed organization and planning skills and problem solving methods.
  • Ability to monitor several program schedules and balance multiple priorities
  • Advanced education is a plus
  • Professional certifications are a plus
