We have an exceptional opportunity for a Reliability Manager to join a manufacturer of graphite materials products used in a wide variety of industries. You will provide leadership for an experienced unionized maintenance team of 30. As a Change Agent, you will train and lead them beyond current reactive maintenance practices to develop predictive/preventative programs.  You will also advance and run maintenance and engineering projects that improve plant processes and equipment uptime.

DUTIES

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Mechanical Integrity (MI) and Maintenance Scheduling and Planning Processes
  • Lead, develop, and improve maintenance excellence programs such as vibration analysis, lubrication, and equipment alignment.
  • Ensure inspection, testing and remediation techniques, technology identification, best practices sharing, failure, and root cause analysis
  • Ensure that the developed MI procedures, processes, systems and practices provide continued integrity of the business unit facilities for their required operational life
  • Maintain state certification of ASME pressure vessels
  • Improving equipment reliability 
  • Identifying equipment deficiencies
  • Manage all existing PM work orders, generation of new PM and non-PM work orders
  • Manage key capital projects
  • Writing purchase requests for capital and expense items, receiving goods and services, generation and administration of blanket purchase orders
  • Provide key technical knowledge for rotating equipment repairs
  • Maintain Mechanical Integrity Equipment Lists and Maintenance documentation.
  • Work closely with vendors to develop efficient and cost-effective maintenance strategies for all equipment.
  • Provide problem-solving of critical or repetitive problems.
  • Support production operators and engineers, maintenance mechanics as a plant technical resource
  • Take the lead on plant utility equipment (boilers, air compressors, chillers, etc.)
  • Develop personnel in mechanical reliability and PSM programs.
  • Utilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) for improving electronic equipment documentation.
  • Establish equipment reliability goals and objectives for the entire site.

 Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Chemical Engineering
  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience as a reliability engineer is required.
  • Previous reliability/ maintenance experience in steel operations is highly valued.

  • The individual must be able to operate with a high degree of autonomy and self-reliance
  • Ability to lead and work within cross-functional teams.
  • Professional training/certifications are a plus
