We have an immediate opportunity for a Product Marketing Manager / Wood Coatings to join our global team of 46,000 people in around 80 countries global paint / coatings manufacturer.  This exciting role will have regional responsibility and ownership for the segment.  You will ensure the s regional goals are in alignment with the global segment goals. This key role actively contributes to the revenue and profitability targets for the segment through the development of new or replacement products and managing their launch into the market!

  • Creates the Regional Segment Marketing Plan in close coordination with the Regional Marketing Manager and Business Unit Segment manager
  • Ensures alignment with global segment strategy and marketing plan
  • Actively manages the allocated segment group as a portfolio in line with agreed branding rules and hierarchies.
  • Monitors regional revenue and profitability performance for the segment
  • Manages the withdrawal of unwanted or obsolete products.
  • Implementation of the innovation process (including the project portfolio) for the segment in in cooperation with the Global Product Manager
  • Optimizes regional product portfolio with the Global Product Manager
  • Assists the region in the implementation and execution of segment strategy
  • Engages with Regional Marketing Managers and Sales Team to ensure translation of segment strategy into operational action planning
  • Reviews implementation of the regional plans and drives course correction where needed
  • Monitors needs within the region as well as for key customers through market research using Voice of Customer discussions and interactions with regional sales team.
  • Translates needs into clear value propositions with the Global Business Unit Segment Manager
  • Translates for the region the product branding / naming structure provided by the Business Unit Segment Manager
  • Provides insights and customer needs back to Business Unit
  • Liaisons with regional sales organizations to ensure market input is gathered
  • Provides warranty guidance based on consultation with sales and R&D
  • Provides pricing input when needed
  • Participates in the Integrated Business Planning meetings to update on project progress

 

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Strong marketing, branding and product management skills in supporting multiple distribution channels
  • Must have product management and lifecycle experience
  • Previous sales / marketing support experience
  • Skilled in developing and launching new products
  • Can demonstrate a history of developing / implementing marketing strategies that grow market share / sales / profits
  • Experienced with cross functional team leadership
  • Possess product portfolio experience that includes: pricing, sales innovations, strategy and campaigns, product launch/redesign, sunset.
  • Practiced with inventory strategies, obsolescence and product withdrawal.
  • Keeps and maintains sales, marketing and product portfolio analytics.
  • Experienced in a fast-paced, goal oriented work environment while setting priorities and managing to deadlines.
  • Must possess innovative strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Strong project management experience and skills.
  • Skilled in developing strong value propositions for assigned products
  • Experience using market research, including Voice of Customer
  • Coatings, paints, wood finishes experience is a plus
  • Professional certification / training is a plus
